Collector of Model Customs Collectorate Quetta Ashraf Ali said that the growth in the revenue collection is reflective of better enforcement and assessment measures taken in the Collectorate. Tax wise break-up of the revenue collected was customs duty, Rs 2.65 billion, sales tax, Rs 2.6 billion federal excise duty 85 million rupees and Rs 1.08 billion with holding tax during the second quarter of current year.
The Collectorate also recorded a healthy growth of 26 percent upward growth in exports during the financial year review. Exports jumped to Rs 15 billion vis-a vis Rs 120 million last year. Collector of Customs Ashraf Ali also praised the Anti-Smuggling Division of the Collectorate.
During the second quarter, goods recovered through Mobile Squads and Customs Check Posts ie Manikhwa, Yaroo, Shella Bagh, Lakpass, Baleli, and Kulpor were worth Rs 481.68 million. Whereas, major goods seized during this period included tyres, cloth, diesel, spare parts, fertilizers, cigarettes Pan Parags and NCP (Non-Customs Paid) vehicles.-PR
